Branco De Souza: Singer-Songwriter & Voice Liberation Coach
Branco De Souza is a Peruvian-born, Montréal-based singer-songwriter and vocal coach whose music and teaching share the same mission: truth, freedom, and authentic expression. For 15 years, Branco has explored the raw edges of alternative rock, drawing inspiration from artists like Jeff Buckley, Pearl Jam, Chris Cornell and Radiohead. Alongside his artistry, Branco has spent the past 10 years as a dedicated voice teacher. He helps people free their voices and rediscover their power through singing with authenticity. Through a mix of technique, emotional presence and body awareness, he guides singers toward a voice that feels natural, expressive, and alive. Whether onstage or in a coaching session, Branco’s work is about the same thing: liberation through sound.
I had the pleasure of playing with Branco, an incredibly talented musician. Every performance is filled with passion. His ability to connect with the audience is impressive. I highly recommend Branco to anyone looking for a gifted and amazing musician.

With his help, my voice was noticeably louder and clearer, and it gave me so much more confidence for my performance! He’s so supportive and understanding, and I’m excited to keep working with him.

About
In 2006, I immigrated with my family to Québec, and it was one of the hardest years of my life. I didn’t speak the language, I felt completely out of place, and I was getting bullied at school.
Luckily, that same year, I found the guitar — or maybe she found me. My elementary school had a music class where we were learning guitar, and from the moment I touched it, I was hooked. Every night after school, my guitar became my refuge, the one place where everything felt calm and true.
As a teenager, I discovered grunge music and fell in love with the rawness of voices like Eddie Vedder. That style of music made me feel less alone with the feeling of not belonging. So I spent hours imitating his singing, learning to express emotion through sound before I even understood what technique was.
After high school, I decided to study music seriously. I spent three years at Vanier College, learning how to sing and refine my vocal technique with jazz and pop teacher Sharada Banman. Afterwards, I continued my training by studying the methods of vocal coaches like Ken Tamplin, Eli Prinsen, and Per Bristow, among others. I’ve been singing every single day since — keeping the fire of my passion for music alive.
Now, I want to share that passion with as many people as possible, and help create a world filled with beauty through sound, expression, and art — and remind people that no matter where they come from or what they’ve lived through, we will always belong in a song.
